pooped

I’ve been up for more than 24 hours, most of the time I spent at work since I had a double-shift (meaning, I completed two days worth of duty) because I have some appointments later on. Now, I feel restless but I’m having a migraine. I’m hungry but I want to go and sh*t.

Anyway, this will be for today at least; hoping that our plans to go South will push through. But I have to get ready though and purchase some golfballs.

searching for hotels

Posted by edcel in Uncategorized, random.

I was doing my daily routine at work, I went to the pantry at the middle of my shift and I was told that my former colleague is planning to go to Singapore to work. I was a bit shocked because I never thought she’d have an interview almost right away.

A lot of people at work are actually scouting for some good employment opportunities abroad. So far, I’m still stuck in the middle because I want to go out of the country mostly because I just plan to enjoy the vacation, not mainly to work. But with these trying times, you have to be practical and take risks.

I’m actually helping her scout for different hotels abroad so she can stay there for the time being before she can settle in. When I checked some information online, I stumbled upon HotelsCombined which I found some data of the different hotels that would cater every traveler who wants to know what are the good places to stay for the mean time.

I saw this Peninsula Excelsior Hotel which is just perfect for her since it’s easily within reach from different business and entertainment centers in the area. It’s an added plus because she doesn’t have to worry because she can slowly familiarize the place where she’s staying that’s near her work.

Which reminds me of another friend who’s just been to an Asian journey from Cambodia to Laos to Thailand. He told me that I was very helpful when I told him about Nova Lodge in Pattayam Thailand because it was established  in which adds a bit of history 1964 to the different places he’s been to. The good thing about it is that the place is very affordable and within his budget.

I can spend my time scouting for various hotels which is indeed very important especially if one is wary and doesn’t want to scratch his head when he arrives at his destination.

I’ve been planning a lot of travel lately, but mostly within the country. It seems that I really love to explore different places. At least with this newfound hobby, I won’t have any trouble looking for a good place to stay. As for me, my papers are in the works so  I could go somewhere in Australia so I can ride the waves that the land down under has. I’m halfway through my savings already so I can be prepared. But I know locating a hotel there wouldn’t be any problem.

travelling makes me high

I love to travel a lot and take pictures while at it. It’s something about going from different places and renting cheap hotels that drives me high. At first, I didn’t like the idea of spending how many hours just to reach a certain destination. However, in the long run, I came to embrace it with open arms. I don’t care if I stay in cheap hotels or even just sleep on the sand at a beach. Because when I go to places, it’s not really about staying and just lounging around, but it’s very good to check some last minute London hotels, you can never be too vigilant when it comes to value for your money; much more to the value of of the place and the culture and life of a different country that wakes you up in the middle of the night despite jet lag. It’s in the sense of fulfillment that after traveling how many kilometers or miles, you are able to see the effort from getting there, pay off.

Right now, I’m in the process of setting up my passport so I can take time to enjoy the day-to-day life in another country. I’d like to go to the US and the UK, also Australia too. Actually, I’d like to go anywhere my budget can take me. I’m saving a lot and I’m trying to search more information in sites and blogs so I can prepare ahead. That’s why those cheap hotels are good enough for me. I won’t have any problem with those as I’m not a high maintenance kind of guy. I’d settle for anything so long as it’s sufficient.

I just hope my passport will be processed within this month or next. I already received my birth certificate from a the National Statistics Office.

Going Down under

I’m still applying for a passport. I don’t seem to have the time going to the nearest DFA office so I can process it. I guess it goes with being lazy in applying for a government document. But eventually or soon, I’ll be able to get one. We will be transferred temporarily to the night shift because we don’t have available stations. While in that timezone, I plan to maximize my daytime’s worth of sleep by going to the office and have my passport processed.

Anyway, one of the places I’m planning to go would be somewhere in Australia. I don’t even know what to expect there except maybe for a lot of beaches. I’m a beach bum so I may find that thought interesting there. I know that one of the famous bloggers in the Philippines also resides there. Ala Paredes, I mean. But she doesn’t know me and I just read her blog which is quite entertaining and deep. Other than that, I don’t have any connections to the land down under.

Of course, I’m doing my best, trying to find different information online on where I can find some peaceful and secure lodging while I’m there. So, I’m researching for a Sydney Accommodation, Melbourne Accommodation, Brisbane Accommodation and even a Perth Accommodation.

I don’t think I’d go there alone, but while I have some friends at work with me, since we don’t plan to stay there forever, a good and cheap place or hotel would already be great enough. Besides, I don’t plan on staying and just lounge around inside the hotel, I’d go out there and mingle with people and what’s keeping the Aussies up. It would definitely be fun to explore a different country where people don’t know you. Of course, I’m not famous here, but at least you’d get your sense of anonymity there. As of the moment, it’s still an ambition, but I’m about to fulfill it soon.
