the week is over

and I need to get back to work. It was fun while it lasted, or should I just be creating this entry tomorrow? I’m still in Dumaguete, still working. The food places and the hang outs have been really fun; I’ve never partied gone out like this even in Cebu. Dumaguete has always been a slow-paced environment, that one tiny bubble where you can just chill with your shorts and slippers, even in bars. It’s a traveler’s haven, the food is cheap and everything can just be traveled by foot.

I’ll be back to a much faster environment by Monday, good luck with all the pictures I need to take. I just wish I can go full-time in blogging. Maybe soon.

Ah, that’s it; always keep a thick face regardless of people passing by.

thinking about it again

Posted by edcel in high school.

When I was in Dumaguete, a high school friend introduced me to her new  bodyguard. The face looked familiar, it was then that I found out that he was a batch lower than us. We went out just to hang out and tried to get wasted. He was taking a class for caregiving which would only take him 6 months to finish. Because I haven’t finished my studies, it made me contemplate again.

I already have a job but it seems that it’s still not enough. I want to earn more so I can help my family. But then he told me it’s not that easy because you need to find a good home health care agency that will back you up when you’re already outside. Of course, everything is a risk. But if this is my ticket outside this country, the idea doesn’t seem too far-fetched.

temporary respite

I went for a vacation; just a short one. Finally, after 4 years of delaying it, I was able to see people where I spent my high school life. Anyway, it was a good experience (like some nike golf balls!–> no sense at all) since we went nature-tripping as well. It’s the first time I was able to trek at all. So it was an experience, albeit a tiring one. But the destination was worth it!

Yes it does.

back from the break

I just got back from Dumaguete; where I spent my high school life. I was assuming at first that I would be able to meet a lot of familiar people there but it seems that time has changed. What was once ours is passed on to the younger generation (can’t believe I’m saying this). It’s their time to have all the fun college can give them; because our time is better utilized in focusing on more important things in life. But it’s still nice that I was able to stay connected to some.

When I arrived here, I was counting the rest of my money and it seems that I ran out of dough because of spending it there. For now, I still have some remaining credit left in my account. At least I have my land line connected back again because I need it for reference when people will call. I don’t know how many times I tried to apply to get a plastic, maybe around 7 times, but I always got denied for a specific reason I can’t seem to point out which. I don’t know what’s wrong when I am very much qualified to get them because of my current work and home status.

Anyway, I got was figuring out which to get; whether it be Citibank, Standard Chartered, HSBC and others. Most of them seem to advertise that they have the best credit card rates; I just hope I am able to distinguish which one will be suited for me because I hate hidden charges and other service fees they don’t tell to people in advertisements.

on leave

I thought my leave last Friday was approved, it turned out that I didn’t file for one at all. I was a bit embarrassed when my supervisor talked to me about it. She wasn’t mad, nor upset; she just shrugged it off and informed me that I could just exchange it for a sick leave. I’m glad that she understood that I had not attentions of going AWOL or ditch my job just for a temporary respite.

Anyway, since I’ll be on leave this Friday till Monday, then I’m dong Overtime work, again. I need to work and finish my tasks in advance before I get caught up with my work. At least I’ll be enjoying another place by then. I’m planning to visit Dumaguete which I haven’t visited since 2004, that’s 4 years ago. What has changed in 4 years eh?

I don’t plan on showing up with a big bang. I just wanted to accompany a friend that I’ve never been able to talk to for a while; talk with sense that is. We’re planning to visit Twin Lake, which is a nice spot to just do some nature-tripping.

Anyway, before I get too fancied up in talking about a place where I haven’t been, I’d better rest cause my eyes are all tired now from staying up last night. At least I’m done with the tasks for today and I’m just waiting for the time to shift for a quarter of an hour. I’ll be logging off then and I’m gonna ride a cab so I can go home and sleep, fast.
