talking business

Posted by edcel in work.

I have been able to read one of the more practical books out there which is Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad which had helped me in my quest for knowledge in order to gain the drive and energy to work wisely and strategically than be just another employee. Of course right now, I can’t say that I’m financially free as I am still in a secure (more or less) job that pays me twice a month. But in the end, I would like to start my own business and then invest in another one. It would be nice to have financial freedom so that I won’t have to be a slave forever.

Business Sales Leads are offering good marketing strategies that create a better impression in whatever product or service that you have. One of the scarce things out there when coming up with something is an idea and it would be really great if I have a lot of it as it will be the main investment as well as the main source.

Anyway, I wish to learn more so I can stop working my buttocks off under a company and build my own someday. I just have to have a little more faith. Robert, help me. hehe.

unexpected delivery

I received a package in the office. At first I was wondering what it was all about but upon closer look, it got me all excited that I couldn’t wait tearing the envelopes up altogether.

I got the plastic I’ve been wanting to get ever since I started working in this industry. I’ve always been applying for them but somehow I always got denied. But now I got it and I’m grinning all day around because of the many benefits of swiping credit out.

But I’m not planning to just shop and splurge mind you. Besides, everybody’s experiencing some sort of recession that it’s hard to just transact business anywhere;  we don’t know what’s going on with the economy currently.

However, with this new acquisition, I’m definitely planning to take advantage of my school’s student credit card offers wherein I can get a discount and just pay at 0% interest on an installment basis. This will definitely help me a lot especially since I’m back in school and I still have a lot on my account to settle.

It’s hard to work and study at the same time, most especially that I work full time and I have a full-load in school. It’s actually killing me softly but a little more patience and sacrifice is what I need. After the Christmas break, I’ll only have less than 3 months to finish.

As for now, let me enjoy my new honeys. *wink*

my uncle, the businessman

Posted by edcel in work.

My aunt and uncle visited us for awhile. We had the usual chitchat happened on what’s going on with our lives by giving some quick updates over dinner. The topic would revolve around family and business. With that in line, it makes me wonder what I have accomplished in life already. I’m 21 years old, yet I feel that I haven’t achieved much.

My uncle is one of the few relatives that I know who are good when it comes to numbers and business. He is where he is because of hard work, wit and guts. Aside from him, my pop’s the other person I wish I could get their brain and exchange it with mine. Anyway, since we’re this topic is about my uncle’s visit, I’m going to discuss some of the things he said; because I was lucky (sarcasm inserted) enough to sit opposite to him on the table.

He told me that one should be fearless when implementing change, one shouldn’t yield to small opinions and be firm if you really want to move the system. Be confident with what you do and show no sign of weakness in order to revolutionize.

He advised me to study Economics in order to broaden my perspective when it comes to commerce. You can always compare if a certain venture is worth it or not by putting it side by side with what the banks usually offer since that is the standard measure of comparison.

My uncle worked his way through college, or as a matter of fact, life to attaing his goals. My father respects him which makes him all the more fit for admiration because I respect my father when it comes to decision-making. He has the experience that’s clearly shown because of the number of wrinkles on his face and the spotless strand of black in his head; evident of the wisdom he’s acquired through the years.

There’s a big difference between working hard and working smart. I plan to do both, but I’m having a bit of a difficulty pursuing the latter. You may be all too hardworking but you’re still stuck to where you are without moving anywhere. Whereas if you know how to navigate to climb that corporate ladder, then that’s where you should rely and work on.

The dinner talk had me thinking. I still don’t know what I want in life. That’s the difficulty I’m having; I know I can do the job that’s tasked of me, the only problem is how BADLY I want it.

saving up

I only have one credit card. I wish I had more though. I tried applying for one before, when I got regularized by the company. However, I was declined because I was still 19 years of age. But now that I’m 21, I finally got one.

In that process though, my colleagues *ehem* my elder colleagues kept on telling me that it’s just a pain in the pocket and that I shouldn’t bother cause these cards were evil. Of course, I didn’t want to believe them even if they have first-hand experience. But I’m just thinking that they don’t have enough discipline and they weren’t prepared enough to accept such responsibility as they just swipe their cards out of impulse. Because in truth, they’re trapped in a web of debt that they help weave themselves. But then again, I don’t plan to be part of a majority who’s lives would revolve around debt and more debt.

I was also educated that it’s not all a nuisance to society so long as you know how to handle and set your limits. Believe me, I have friends who just apply for credit cards left and right, and they just swipe till they literally drop; only to find out that they’re stuck in a pile of dirt, trying to get out of the mess that they put themselves in.

As for, me I wish to get credit cards to build credit as this is good if you maintain a clean record. According to my pop, if you have a credit card, you have more opportunities; not opportunities to spend (even if it’s true). What he means is that you have more offers from people to be able to venture out into something you would like to have in the future. Take for example, a business and you need to have a capital.

That’s why I’ve been looking for the best credit card applications in order to be able to at least get a heads up in the future if I plan to put up a business. At least, if ever I do have good credit rating by then, I’d be eligible to apply for a loan and make sure that I get my return of investment.

Right now, I only have one; and the credit limit sucks. I’m still searching for good companies out there, but let me start slowly. By then, I’ll be saving up for my own business.
