purpose of this blog

Posted by edcel in blog.

This blog is an outlet for showing the deeper side of me. Cause people just perceive me as a happy-go-lucky-person with no direction in life; even if it’s half-true. I just put a mask with a happy face every time I go to work or wherever; but deep inside, close people know the real me. That is, I’m surrounded with too much problems that I get mentally deranged sometimes.

I don’t want to open up to people because in the end, they’ll have they’re own say and I’ll have mine. God knows what those brains are thinking next. There’s no use of explaining just because I’m tired of repeating the same words, as if they’re still going to believe me. Of course, I’m running out of excuses and my excuses don’t seem to equate but we each got our own reasons; with those reasons being determined by how we were raised.

Anyway, going back; it’s nice to have a place to talk and talk, since I love talking about to myself. So forgive me if I’m sometimes a prick for being sensitive when it comes to the words I leak out of this page.

But don’t get me wrong, this blog is another option for me to earn money while expressing my thoughts. I already started earning online through another blog, however, I didn’t have much control of that over this. I mean, I’m happy that I’m able to learn the hassles of creating my own website. It adds credibility to the fact that I started it by myself. So it’s not bad that I also blog about things that may be off base. Besides, I already have a number of “personal” entries that I don’t normally share to my usual readers in my other blog, so it would I’m assuming it would be okay to talk about nonsense once in a while.

Anyway, to anybody who visits here, I’d appreciate it if you’d leave a comment; if not on the “Comments” box, you can just place a shout out on how you were able to come to this site.

social update

I was just checking some information online for some sites that I’m currently signed with to see if there were any updates. Lo and behold! I got another opportunity. It’s been awhile since I signed up for SocialSpark since I don’t update it that much. But right now that they finally went live, I’m glad.

I applied for this site before just for the heck of it. But now, it’s becoming a regular visit. What makes this different from other sites is it’s networking capability feature. There are a number of sites out there that focuses on paid posts, but with this, I like the fact that you can build your own profile. Cause it’s like a facebook or friendster in one. Of course, facebook and socialspark are two different things, each having its distinct feature.

I like it that you can visit different profiles and add them as friends; you can also browse through different tasks, check out different advertisers, add new blogs under your account and ask for help in the community.

But I guess that’s a bit where the problem lies. With all the many pictures and links catching your attention, it’s a bit hard to navigate with all the menus and buttons. That’s why you need to avoid getting lost of the main purpose of why you signed in the first place. But maybe I just have to get used to the layout and its pages.

I’m still working my way to building up my own profile as well as establish an image. But I’m glad that I signed up for this site early. If you happen to visit, you can give me some props in my profile. Hehe, enough of the shameless plug already.

Of Priorities and Promotions

Sacrifice something precious to gain something else

More people are getting promoted at work. Most of the tenured agents are gaining confidence in applying for higher positions. Of course, if you’re bored of doing the same routine already, you’d find other means to do something more than your scope of work; that is if you’re open to change. And since I’m in an industry that is ever changing and growing, we need more and more people to fill up the available “Leader” positions to direct and handle people who are still starting.

As for me, I’m in a tough dilemma. I’m not entirely new to my current position but I wish to apply for a leadership role as well. However, I have a problem with setting up and sorting out my priorities. I’m still an undergraduate who wants to finish and get a degree so I can have other opportunities, so if I apply for a higher position, it means more responsibilities and more pressure. It is known that to become a Team Leader in this industry would mean more dedication which would just be reciprocated mostly with a “Thank You”. I’m up for the challenge since this is the path that I wanted in the first place. Then again, I said that I’m planning to go back to school. So aside from schooling and reaching my quota everyday, blogging is next in line.

But of course, if I choose to apply for a TL and would get accepted for the job, then I’d have to either choose between going to school or blogging; in any case, school would have to be first. I don’t even have the right to assume that I’m going to get the job if I apply again.

However, knowing that I’m seeing the fruits of my side labor, it doesn’t really equate much when it comes to salary if I still stick to my current work. Just that I’d be missing the opportunity at this moment of getting a higher rank. This is what I had been eyeing on even when I applied for an Evaluator’s position. But then I discovered blogging.

I’m actually getting some cash out of this craft and I don’t want to stop the momentum when I haven’t reached my full potential yet in this online venture. So in some sense, if I pick one path, I’d have to make do with a secondary, and try to eliminate the third option. In this case, I’m having a terribly difficult time which to give up: TL Application, Schooling or Blogging. Just to let you know, this is on top of the current work that I have.

I’ve already had a hard time studying while working as an agent, much more if I’d become a TL. But I believe can make it, I know I can balance the two; compromising my health then in the process.

I’m in such a rut right now, thinking over and weighing things out. So what’ll it be ed? Career, school, blogging? Can’t I have all?

Socially Sparky

I’m so tired from work. I can’t believe how many evaluations I had to do today just to reach our minimum quota for this fiscal month. To think that I only have 9 days left to complete my assigned monitoring and that I filed for leave for two days. I have to attend and create write ups for managers and their coaching as well; on which areas they have improved on. I don’t know what I’m going to do anymore. I know I shouldn’t be complaining knowing that I’m the one who wanted to go through this path in my career. Much more so that I’m planning to get promoted within this year again. I guess it’s just one of those days where you just want to do something else to get out of the monotony of everyday work.

So since pay day seems to be a couple of days ahead and I’m still saving and doing my best to keep myself from going overboard my budget for lunch and snacks, I’m just anticipating on what timsocial sparke I’ll be going home because I just got a message from SocialSpark, which is somewhat a networking site where I could meet new people from all walks of life. It turned out that I had to wait a bit as I needed to also wait for people to finish their tasks as I’m the one designated to collate all their records and other data.

But I’m glad that right now, I’m just typing this entry away without any hassle because when I checked my account, my blog just got accepted. I logged in and found the layout of the page and it’s features interesting cause it’s a mixture of almost everything. From getting a number of newfound friends, to posting different type of comments, to writing different types of reviews to topics that one may find fancy. Anything you may want to find, you can check them out here. I’m just looking for things as well to keep my mind off from work.

The good thing about it is they guarantee that it’s…

-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly

Well, so far, I’m enjoying their service and I’m pretty sure this will be a great way to start this online career of mine, aside from pursuing a career with my current job.

Edcel

The author is stuck somewhere in life.

He created this blog because his former blog expired unless he pay for subscription. And since he’s such a bit practical but actually more of a cheapskate, he transferred to another free blog site. He tried searching for other hosts out there, he already found one aside from Wordpress. However, he found the simplicity quite refreshing. So he’s planning to keep this just to for the sake of keeping itself.

Right now, the author is having fun tweaking this free Wordpress blog. He likes to just post some random thoughts that he normally doesn’t want to type in his other blog. Maybe a few pictures or two as well.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my entries as I also enjoy creating them!

Just wanting to represent.

Because the author realized that having a free Wordpress blog would mean having limited features, he figured he’d buy a domain for himself; hence, edcel.net was born. Hope that anybody who’d drop by would care to holler.
